The following information is provided to assist you with your arrival in Port Bundaberg.

River Entrance
The Burnett River
on which Bundaberg is situated  can be entered in all weather.  The channel is clearly marked and extends approx 3 miles out to sea.  It is advised to proceed upstream past the Port Marina only on an in-going tide. Some spots are shallow.  Bundaberg is situated approximately 10 miles upstream from the Port Marina.  Anchoring is permitted free of charge near the town reach. 

Volunteer Marine Rescue, Bundaberg - VMR488 (07 41594349) is located in the Burnett Heads Boat Harbour at the mouth of the Burnett River.  VMR Bundabeerg monitors VHF 16,22,80 & 81.  Also HF 2182, 2524 & 4125.  Operating hours 0700 to 1800 daily.  Local weather is broadcasted at 0715, 1215, 1615 and 1715 on VHF 22, 80 & 81 daily. VMR Bundaberg is the first point of contact on arrival in Australian waters. Contact via VHF 81  VMR Bundaberg

Australian Customs Office (07 41521997) is located at 5 Targo Street, Bundaberg.  Australian Customs advise that "All international yachts must give a minimum of 96 hours notice prior to their arrival in Australian waters. " Australian Customs or Email Customs

Australian Quarantine Office (07 41522511)  is located at 5 Targo Street, Bundaberg.
The quarantine anchorage is located immediately downstream of the Bundaberg Port Marina. More information available - follow this link or

Port Bundaberg Marina is situated approximately 1 nautical mile upstream of the Southhead Lighthouse at Burnett Heads on the portside.  The marina monitors 81VHF during office hours 8am to 5pm each day.Telephone 07 41595066 www.bundabergportmarina.com.au
